This site came about as a result of our experiences and frustrations building our personal kit cars and hot rods. Dealing with the likes of NAPA and similar replacement parts operations often resulted in an exchange that started with “I need the Yr, Make and Model of the car in order to find the right part”. At hearing this I patiently explain that the part is not going into a big three manufactured car and the counter attendant just as patiently explains that without that info they cannot help me.

At this point  I would typically end up walking out in frustration and going to the next parts store up the line in hopes of finding an “Old Timer” who actually knows cars and parts outside of a computer and could actually think about what I was asking for.

When it comes to speed parts or specialty kit car parts, we often had to refer to the Internet where we ended up lost in a bewildering array of vendor sites that range from super in all respects to downright sleezy and given that they can be anywhere in the world it can leave one wondering if they should crack open the wallet and is it even safe to do so. 

Over the years we have built many kit cars and hot rod projects and these experiences have been repeated several times on every one of those builds. Out of frustration we decided that the best alternative would be to put together a collection of parts, pieces and sources that we know from first hand experience work in the various rods and kit cars we have built over the years.  All of the parts and sources on the site are products and companies that we have personally used on our on kit cars and rods and know to be of excellent quality with great support from the manufacturer.

Lastly, as Canadians we know the frustrations and expense involved in having parts sent to us from the US with the result that where ever possible the price lists on the site includes all shipping charges to your door – and perhaps best of all – no brokerage fees thus eliminating the need to pay the couriers a kings ransome to get the parts that you have already paid for.
